Wilyun Pools ConservAction Program, Australia
ConservAction is helping protect vital habitat for threatened species and expand it with new biodiverse plantings.
Contribute to the reconnection of woodland corridors with remnant bushland and nearby nature reserves to help our native wildlife thrive.
A LANDSCAPE WHERE EVERY TREE COUNTS
Southwest Australia has the highest concentration of rare and endangered species on the planet, with 577 animal species listed as threatened.
ConservAction provides critical protection and food sources for endangered wildlife such as the Painted Button-quail (boorloom), Australasian Bittern (boordenitj) and Carnaby’s Black Cockatoo (ngolak).

400 t+Helping to restore biodiversity
The complex and ancient geology of the region, with undulating plains and interspersing wetland and creek lines, has produced a mosaic of biodiverse species groups at Wilyun Pools.
But these Kwongan shrubland and Flat-topped Yate wetland ecological communities in the project area are now both listed as threatened and prioritised for conservation. Nearly 90% of the native bushland on Australia’s Southwest coast has been destroyed in the last century, and continues to face the pressures of land clearing, invasive species, salinity and climate change.
ConservAction is ensuring that these biodiverse ecosystems in the project area are protected in the long-term through Carbon Neutral securing a 100-year protection agreement on the land title.
Nearly 1.2 million trees and shrubs across approximately 30 hectares have been planted at Wilyun Pools in the last decade which reconnect to the remnant bushland. More than 40 hectares of new biodiverse plantings each year will continue to grow these green corridors.
In addition to conserving habitat, ConservAction is regenerating soil and countering the landscape legacies of agriculture.

Is this a carbon offset?
No. ConservAction is not a carbon offset product as it doesn’t incorporate the rigorous carbon monitoring and measurement needed to quantify carbon storage. You cannot claim carbon neutrality or offset your footprint or reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the ConservAction Program.
Why are trees the unit I purchase in?
We use trees as a unit of measure to represent your impact on habitat conservation and protection of this threatened ecosystem. We keep an up-to-date record of the total number of trees that have been planted at Wilyun Pools.
Where is my money going?
Profits from the ConservAction program are reinvested into Carbon Neutral’s ConservAction account to support the 100 year protection agreement, future planting costs, and ongoing conservation monitoring. ConservAction profits also support our broader future project site assessments, biodiversity surveying, and local community engagement activities such as educational outreach with primary schools and TAFE.
All ConservAction contributors will receive a personalised certificate via email showing the number of trees you’re protecting in the ConservAction Program.
