Ecosystem restoration is about more than just carbon. Our focus is on transforming degraded landscapes into thriving biodiverse ecosystems to underpin our carbon projects.
Our planet needs more healthy ecosystems
That’s why we bring the latest science and knowledge into our reforestation projects to provide the ecosystem services all living things rely on.
By partnering with us through our carbon offset projects or Plant-a-Tree program, you’re making a positive difference to the environment and leaving behind a better world for future generations.
Our impact
Cleaning the air
Trees and plants capture carbon from the atmosphere as they grow. In return, they produce oxygen vital for all living things.
Our tree planting and ecosystem restoration projects help reduce pollution from greenhouse gas emissions.
The native trees and shrubs planted in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor will capture more than a million tonnes of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.
And we’re just getting started.
Homes for native wildlife
Our projects are creating habitat refuges for native animals.
This includes threatened and endangered species like Malleefowl, Carnaby’s Black Cockatoo, and the Western Spiny-tailed Skink.
We’re creating green corridors that connect crucial habitat. Our restoration design helps link together existing bush with our new plantings and nature reserves.
Restoring degraded landscapes
More than 90% of the original vegetation in our project area has been historically cleared.
We’re writing a new chapter by restoring the ecosystems that once thrived there.
Change doesn’t happen overnight, but with your help, we’re making a difference every single day.
Boosting our native biodiversity
Healthy forests are noisy and filled with the sounds of animals.
That’s why we plant between 40 and 60 different species in all our projects.
This includes Eucalyptus, Acacia, Melaleuca, and Banskia species.
This provides a natural habitat for our unique flora and fauna to thrive.
Improving soil and water quality
Our tree planting and ecosystem restoration projects help restore the natural balance of nutrients and minerals in our soils.
Native vegetation also helps tackle the problems of soil salinity and the rising water table that is widespread in the northern wheatbelt.
Our projects also bolster soil organic carbon helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor
Our project is Australia’s largest biodiverse reforestation carbon sink, with over 30 million trees and counting.
Its also the first and only Gold Standard-certified carbon offset project in Australia.
