Citizen scientists are counting birds in the northern Wheatbelt to measure how effectively tree planting draws back wildlife to regenerated land. Carbon Neutral has planted trees and shrubs on over 13,000 hectares in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor, the question is how much native fauna is drawn to these new plantings? And how can biodiversity be boosted while still hitting carbon abatement goals? The Conservation Council of Western Australia helps to answer those and other questions with bird surveys like these.
