Carbon Neutral provides a comprehensive emissions calculator for organisations. It is designed to assist with an estimation of the global warming impact of part or all of an organisation. The calculator is easy to use and allows organisations to conveniently input information to produce a total estimation of emissions (and cost to offset) in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) from seven sectors: 1) Fleet 2) Energy 3) Air Travel 4) Waste 5) Consumables 6) Staff Travel 7) Special Events
The emissions can be offset in two ways:
1. Establishing Trees and Shrubs This relates to carbon sequestration from reforestation. Trees and shrubs established to offset emissions will take up to 100 years to fully sequester the CO2 although the majority of the carbon is sequestered in the first 30 – 40 years. These projects also contribute to multiple environmental benefits on the ground. One tonne of CO2e may be offset through a donation of $20.00.
2. Greenhouse Friendly™ Verified Emissions Reductions (VERs) VERs can be used for immediate offset. One VER equals one tonne of CO2e. Carbon Neutral will also establish 2 trees or shrubs for revegetation for each VER. VERs will be acquitted (which means that they cannot be resold) on behalf our clients with a donation per VER of $20.00.

Organisations that achieve a minimum donation level of 20
tonnes to be offset are able to use the Carbon Neutral logo to promote their
commitment to the environment. They will also be listed as a Green Supporter on
the Carbon Neutral website with a link to the organisation’s website.
